August 13th, 2011 Brother Murray engineered a gigantic Stake Day of Service in accordance with President Eyring's General Conferance invitation.
All morning stake members, neighbors, and missionaries repaired and repainted our stake center's amphitheater benches and softball bleachers. They weeded and cleaned up the volleyball and softball courts. They tied dozens of blankets for Primary Children's Medical Center. Children in the stake also served by making cards to send with the blankets.
After giving service to our stake center and community, everyone enjoyed a five-star barbecue (thanks Brother Beardshall!), while the kids cooled off with sprinklers and a waterslide.
If anyone has a picture or two they'd like to contribute to this post, please email me. Thanks!
